Brief:
Automotive is a very challenging sector in the world of design and advertising. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) wants to boost their sales for 500 by creating engaging digital platforms. They need to be user friendly, interactive, intuitive functional user interface.

 

Concept:
The goal is to differentiate Fiat 500 from its existing competitors and get the audience to explore the uniqueness of the vehicle, by emotionally connecting with the consumers to test drive and buy the car.

Solutions:
To create a Mobile and Tablet Unit that showcases the uniqueness of Fiat 500. This Ad Unit covers a colouriser, gallery and interior 360° view. The Unit is created specially for the app Shazam. By activating Shazam with the advert, viewers are directly linked to the unit.

Trivia: Each Fiat 500 colours are name after music. It could be base on the title of the song, genre, style of music or even a specific music from different culture. This is why Shazam is the perfect platform to showcase this Ad Unit and the uniqueness of the Fiat 500.

 

Shazam it:
When you are out in the club or in an open space and you hear a soundtrack you like but don’t know what the title is?, Shazam is the go to find out.

The same principle is applied if the viewer is interested on the car or the model while watching the TV ads with Shazam logo and a message. The soundtrack on the TV ad is inserted with a special program that is detected by the app prompting the user to the landing page and explore what the Fiat 500 has to offer.

Results:
The success of the Fiat 500 Shazam ad unit resulted in it being adapted for Undertone Media to design and build this ad unit for Mobile-Tablet-Desktop and other advertising networks. The design and wireframe of this unit has to feel consistent yet flexible enough to work across other Fiat car models, such as the 124 Spider and Tipo.
